A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling error. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of junk messages, but this problem can be rectified using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you’ve got a hosting plan with our company and you want to activate the catch-all functionality for a particular e-mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can choose one address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all email address with no more than a click in case you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud platform. All the mailboxes that you set up using any domain name hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. Each of them will have a small-size "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this option will be to click that icon. In the same fashion you will be able to turn off the feature, if you don’t need it any longer. Our system will warn you in case you’re trying to activate a second catch-all address for a given domain name or in case there is activated email forwarding, but it will never deactivate or alter anything automatically or without your permission.
