Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can grab your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer code from the present registration provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no specific terms on who can obtain a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.

The .NAME top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your native language.
